At the young age of eighteen I opened my own beauty salon, ten months after fully qualifying. I gained great experience in various salons throughout my 3 years of training, even in salons as far as Turkey where I helped to manage a salon for 4 months after I had qualified. Owning my own salon was always my goal; therefore I was very determined to make it work! T.l.c celebrated its 11 year anniversary in 2020 and I am so proud of how far I have come. I have been recognised as a finalist at four award ceremonies in Northern Ireland, including Nail Technician of the Year 2018 & 2019, and Beauty Salon of the Year 2019.

I always knew I wanted to share my passion and knowledge with others and so I made the decision to enrol on a HNC Level 4 and HND Level 5 Beauty Management course through the NWRC in Derry. Although studying for over three years alongside running my own salon was tough, it is the highest level of qualifications that can be obtained in Beauty Therapy and it provided me with the Diploma that I needed to become a teacher within the Beauty Industry. 

I became fully accredited and insured with the Beauty Guild and with their backing I have been successfully training students every month in beauty therapies and nail treatments. Within 6 months of offering these courses in my salon I was approached to become a sub-distributor for an amazing nail brand that I had been using for a long time called Indigo Nails Lab. I was excited and very proud as I am the only other distributor in Northern Ireland and I have been retailing their products to my students and fellow nail technicians ever since.

I am a true believer in continuously improving my professional development in order to have the highest level of skills, knowledge and qualifications to be a leader and help inspire others in the industry. I attend courses regularly to keep up to date with the latest trends to offer to my clients, as well as provide knowledge to my students.
